Ashley NyHolt
Grade 6 Teacher
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Teacher Lisc.) from Liberty University
I grew up in Brampton, Ontario (a proud JKCS alumni!)
After graduating from Liberty, I taught in Charlotte, North Carolina on a student visa extension. Moving back to Brampton, I immediately set my sights on new teaching opportunities. God opened the door for me to work at John Knox as a supply teacher, then as an EA, before teaching Grade 6 full time. I’ve been blessed to have taught Grade 6, as well as Physical Education, at JKCS since 2014.
Hobbies/Interests/Family life:
I enjoy playing and watching sports, exercising, spending time with friends and family, reading a good mystery novel, and travelling!
What do you love about JKCS?
Teaching has given me the privilege of helping students in their day to day life. I love seeing the “Aha” moment in a student’s face when a concept clicks.
My favourite teaching memory is always taking my Grade 6 students on our annual Fair Glen trip each fall! To see students enjoying God’s creation outside of the classroom always brings a smile to face.
At John Knox, I coach several sports teams throughout the school year and act as the Female Athletic Director.
I love this school because of its rich faith-based history of quality education in Brampton. The staff embody what it means to be a follower of Christ in both their personal, and work, lives.
