Hobbies/Interests/Family life:

I grew up in Toronto and attended a small Christian School. My family moved to Brampton and I attended JKCS for my grade 8 year. I then attended T.D.C.H for high school and then Redeemer for two stints. First earning a Bachelor of Arts and then returning five years later to earn a BEd, OCT and CSTC. I have been teaching for almost 15 years, the last 10 at John Knox Brampton. During this time I have taught mainly grade four and five along with PE to many of the primary grades. I enjoy being very involved in various sports and athletics activities and coaching and watching kids grow and flourish in this area.

I live in Brampton with my wife Leanne and 3 children: Hayden, Harrison and Hadlie. I am an avid sports fan and love hockey. I am a Red Wings fan and after school can usually be found at the rink or at a baseball diamond. My favourite food would probably have to be BBQ steak and baked potatoes with a caesar salad, although tacos is a close second.

I think my various hobbies, volunteer and job experiences helped develop my interest and abilities and passion for teaching. As teacher’s I believe we need to lead students by faith and model Christ-like behaviour and attitudes. Whether it is a lesson in Science or Bible or coaching a team on the volleyball or basketball court I aim to guide the students to do their best and compete in a Christ-like manner that helps them be beacons of light.

What do you love about JKCS?

I enjoy teaching in an inherently Christian environment and guiding students to realize their God-given abilities and helping equip them for service in God’s world. The supportive community is a blessing as we strive for quality Christian education and for our students to grow and develop into Christian leaders that will ultimately bring reconciliation to our fallen world.
